Visibility Of Fanworks and Fan Communities
We actively work to obtain consent from the creators of fanworks that are mentioned on the podcast. (See our Fanworks Policy below.) To cultivate a safe and respectful community, we will seek to honor creator requests with regards to privacy.
It is fine to refer to Archive of Our Own/AO3 and other publicly-known fansites. Private communities may be referenced, but please refrain from explicitly stating the name or precise location of such groups, as safety is our priority.
Discussions of Celebrities
Transformative Taskmaster is not a celebrity gossip podcast focused on the private lives of the real people who make Taskmaster great. However, RPF (real person fiction) uses the names and publicly available information of real people to inspire fictional characters with invented behaviors, and enthusiastic debate around ‘headcanons’ (an individual’s invented behaviors and traits) is a long established fandom sport.
Transformative Taskmaster welcomes the latter (headcanon discussion) and isn’t interested in the former (celebrity gossip).
Notice for Guests
Transformative Taskmaster as a podcast revolves around discussions of the Taskmaster fandom, including transformative works, i.e. fanart and fanfiction. As part of our arrangements to have you on the pod, we’ll make sure to specifically check in with you regarding your comfort levels regarding discussing fan works. Feel free to ask for any clarification at that time (or any time). We also recommend listening to episode 3: ‘What Famous People Should Know About Fan Fiction’ before your interview.
Fanworks Policy
We want to make sure that the creators of fanworks we mention have given us their consent to talk about their creations.
If you consent to having your fanwork(s) be discussed on the podcast, please fill out this form!
This will also be the form you use to edit or revoke consent.
